About Me

My name is Krissy.

I am a full-time+ working mother of 3 boys. I’m a successful real estate agent, President of Invent the Summer (a non-profit organization that I started with my son Peter), Owner/Program Director/Running Coach at MPower Youth Sports, and an avid home improvement hobbyist.

I’ve had a love-hate relationship with my house for the past 10 years, but I’ve finally figured out how to make it work for me and my family. Little-by-little, project-by-project, I am creating my way out of the overwhelm.

Everyone contributes in my household but, like most women I know, I am the Organizer-in-Chief, Logistics Manager, and Head Housekeeper. It’s a lot of work and things can fall apart pretty quickly.

I am on a mission to reinvent my home to make it function better for my family. My goal is to help you do the same by providing you with the tools, resources and skills you need to transform your overwhelming house into a comfortable and relaxing home.

In all honesty, I have no formal training in home improvement. My “skill” comes from being just confident enough to try to figure things out. In other words, I pretty much make it up as I go along. Do I come up with the perfect, elegant solution to every house problem? Nope. Are my solutions better than doing nothing? Usually.

What’s the worst that could happen????

This is my mantra. I ask myself this question, along with the corollary “what’s the best that could happen?” before I embark on any home improvement project. I’ve also asked it about 1,000 times since coming up with the idea for this website.

So what IS the worst that could happen with this project?

  • No one sees it.
  • No one cares.
  • People think it’s lame.

But even if all of the above are true, it will force me to get a bunch of stuff done in my house and I’ll have a little more fun doing it.

What’s the best that could happen?

  • I give at least one person the courage to remaster her house.
  • I help someone learn to love their house again.
  • I inspire people who feel stuck in their physical environment to make it better.
  • I make people and families happier.
  • I get a bunch of stuff done in my house and have a little more fun doing it.

Either way, I win. I hope you’ll join me on my journey!
